Activated aloe water
Skin concerns
• Dryness
• Dullness
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Aloe barbadensis leaf water
Why your skin needs it
Activated aloe water helps your skin absorb and retain water for long-lasting hydration.
The Clinique expertise
Pure water is infused with aloe barbadensis leaf extract, then supercharged to hold both positive and negative ionic charges which increases your skin's affinity to it. Next, it's combined with other powerhouse hydrators, like hyaluronic acid, for the most effective, long-lasting results. Moisture Surge Eye™ 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate instantly floods the delicate eye area with crease-plumping hydration.
What our Clinique derm says
"Activated aloe water is incredible at helping your skin lock in maximum moisture," says Dr. Sueng Hoon Kang, a board-certified dermatologist based is Seoul, South Korea.
Vitamin C
Skin concerns
• Dullness
• Uneven skin tone
• Fatigue
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Ascorbic acid
Why your skin needs it
Vitamin C is a powerful ingredient that helps protect and brighten your skin, giving it an overall brighter, more even glow.
The Clinique expertise
Vitamin C is most effective when it's fresh. Clinique Fresh Pressed™ Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10% has a revolutionary light-proof, air-tight chamber that maintains the potency of vitamin C up until you use it.
What our Clinique derm says
"Vitamin C addresses multiple skin concerns and is one of the most effective antioxidants. Daily use helps protect against oxidisation and helps promote a healthy glow," suggests Dr. Michelle Henry, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York City.
Salicylic acid
Skin concerns
• Blemishes
• Fatigue/Radiance
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Salicylic acid
Why your skin needs it
If you experience any type of blemishes, from sporadic breakouts to stubborn blemishes, you can try salicylic acid. This beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) can help to stimulate surface skin cell turnover and unclog pores, revealing fresh skin that's naturally smoother looking with greater clarity.
The Clinique expertise
Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel has a potent dose of salicylic acid that helps clear up those stubborn blemishes quickly upon application. It also helps prevent new ones from making an unwelcome appearance.
What our Clinique derm says
"I love salicylic acid and use it all the time. It's a highly-effective and super-gentle chemical exfoliant that whisks away pore-clogging dead skin cells to pave the way for clearer skin," says Dr. Michelle Henry, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York City.
Hyaluronic acid
Skin concerns
• Dehydration
• Dullness
• Lines & wrinkles
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Sodium hyaluronate
Why your skin needs it
This powerful ingredient floods your skin with hydration and helps strengthen your skin's natural moisture barrier. As we age, supplies of hyaluronic acid diminish. Replenishing your skin's reservoir
helps maintain a plump, dewy, and healthy looking condition.
The Clinique expertise
Best-loved Moisture Surge™ 100-Hour AutoReplenishing Hydrator features three different types of hyaluronic acid to penetrate multiple layers of your skin. Clinical testing proves it works non-stop for 100 hours – even after you wash your face.
What our Clinique derm says
"Hyaluronic acid is a must-have, regardless of your skin type," says Dr Michelle Henry, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York City.
"It plumps up your skin with hydration and makes fine lines and wrinkles appear less obvious."
Alpha hydroxy acids
Skin concerns
• Dullness
• Roughness
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Lactic acid
• Glycolic acid
Why your skin needs it
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), like glycolic acid and lactic acid, exfoliate the surface of your skin to help brighten dull-looking skin, smooth rough skin and reduce the look of large pores.
Regular use of AHAs adds up to a major increase in overall radiance and evened-out texture.
The Clinique expertise
In advanced formulations, like Clinique iD™ Active Cartridge Concentrate for Pores & Uneven Texture, dull cells can gently be swept away from your skin's surface to reveal fresh, smooth, and healthy looking skin underneath.
Good to know
If you have any concerns regarding how your skin will handle AHAs, start out using them every other day and work up to daily use.
Retinol
Skin concerns
• Lines & wrinkles
• Dullness
• Uneven skin tone
What you'll see on the ingredient list
• Retinol
Why your skin needs it
If you're looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and give your skin a youthful radiance, then retinol should be in your routine. This pure form of vitamin A can help to slow down your
skin's natural ageing process, as well as rebuild collagen and elastin, two essential structures that help keep your skin smooth and firm. Retinol also accelerates surface skin cell turnover, revealing an overall smoother surface and brighter glow.
The Clinique expertise
Retinol may cause peeling, redness, or dryness in the first weeks of use – a sign that it's transforming your skin. Clinique Fresh Pressed™ Overnight Booster with Pure Vitamin A (Retinol) combines retinol with a soothing anti-ageing serum to minimise irritation. Also, vitamin A is most powerful when fresh, which is why it's packaged in an air-tight, light-proof vial that keeps it at peak potency until you're ready to use it.
What our Clinique derm says
"Retinol is an essential part of any anti-ageing skincare regimen because it makes your skin look smoother and reduces the look of wrinkles," says Dr. Emma Wedgeworth, a board-certified dermatologist based in London.

Take the day off – evening skincare routines & make-up removal
To give your face a thorough cleanse at the end of the day, you need a strategic one-two punch: first, an oil-based make-up remover to dissolve tenacious long-wearing make-up (foundation, concealer, blush, etc.), followed by a water-based facial cleanser to remove sweat, pollution, dirt, and any accumulation of oil stuck in your pores. This double cleansing routine will not only result in more radiant looking skin, but also clears the way for your skin to better absorb skincare treatments for maximum results.
Make-up focus – foundation tips
1. Be conservative
Always start by applying just a little bit of foundation, then add more until you have the right amount of coverage.
2. Work from the inside out
Apply a dab of foundation on each side of your nose and in the centre of your forehead and chin, then blend outward.
3. Stipple, don't rub
Whether you're using a foundation brush or your fingertips, apply foundation in a stippling motion, which means gently tapping it into your skin. Avoid any wiping or rubbing motions because that will only push the foundation around and cause streaks.
4. Set it & forget it
Dusting a silky loose setting powder, like Blended Loose Powder, over your foundation will ensure it won't budge without dulling its finish.
